Our Beliefs

What We Believe About God… He is the Sovereign Creator and Sustainer of the universe, but also the Heavenly Father who loves each of us, God is the Father, Jesus Christ is the Son, and the Holy Spirit is God working in the believer’s life to make us what He wants us to be. (John 1:1,2; 4:24; 5:18; and 10:30)

What We Believe About Jesus Christ… Jesus is the Christ the Son of the living God. The one and only Lord and Savior.  His death on the cross was for us, in our place, reconciling us back to God. He was buried and rose from the tomb on the third day giving eternal life to everyone who believes in Him.    (Isaiah 9:6; John 1:1-5; Hebrews 4:14-15; 1 Corinthians 15:3-4; Romans 1:3-4; John 14:6; and 1 Timothy 2:5)

What We Believe About The Holy Spirit… He is God and He works in Christians to produce mature Christlike believers.  Every Christian is given the gift of the Holy Spirit at conversion.  These gifts are to be used in building up the church.   (II Corinthians 3:17; John 16:7-15; Ephesians 1:13; and Romans 8:9)

What We Believe About The Bible… The Word of God is authoritative, infallible, written by men under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit of God.  It is the only Work of God to mankind. (II Timothy 3:16-17; II Peter 1:20-21; Psalm 119:105; Proverbs 30:5-6)

What We Believe About The Church

Jesus instituted the church, is its authority and head.  The local community of redeemed people, lives in submission to Him, reflecting the unity, diversity, and creativity of God through the identification and use of spiritual gifts. (Romans 12:4-8; 1 Corinthians 12:12-27)

What We Believe About Prayer

Prayer is our active evidence of faith, obedience, and utter dependence upon our absolutely sovereign God. (James 4:2-3; 1 John 5:14)

What We Believe About Salvation… The Bible tells us that we are all sinners saved by grace through faith in Jesus Christ.  There is no way we can earn salvation.  It is a free gift to anyone who will receive it.  We receive forgiveness and new life through…

·        Belief in Jesus Christ (Mark 16:16)

·        Repentance (turning from sin) (Acts 2:38; Acts 17:30)

·        Confession of your belief in Jesus (Romans 10:9; Matthew 10:32;

·        Baptism into Christ (Romans 6:4; Galatians 3:27; Mark 16:16)

·        Living faithfully (Matthew 28:20, Revelation 2:10)

What We Believe About Celebrating The Lord’s Supper Weekly… We celebrate communion every Sunday as it was in the early church.  We invite all Christians, members and non-members, to share with us whenever we celebrate the Lord’s Supper. (Acts 20:7)

What Are The Requirements Of Membership? Membership in the congregation is based upon faith in Jesus Christ, the Son of God, as Savior and Lord of your life.  We have no creed but Jesus.  Because baptism (the immersion in water of a repentant believer) was part of the conversion of men, women and children in the New Testament, it is a qualification for membership today.

Steps To Membership

1. Read Country’s What We Preach and teach

What We Preach and Teach is a summary of the doctrine that is held by this church. Before becoming a member, we need to know if you are in agreement with our stated beliefs.
If there is any part of our Statement of Faith that you struggle with, please talk with an Elder.

2. Complete Country’s Membership Application

The Membership Application helps us to get to know you better by learning about your prior church experience, ministry experience, and your testimony – as well as providing us with your contact information. Another part of this application is to read and sign the Individual Membership Covenant in which you acknowledge that you:

• have placed your faith in Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior
• agree to serve with your talents and spiritual gifts
• commit to regular giving
• protect the unity of the Body by resolving conflict Biblically
• are a witness to your faith in a positive way

If you have questions about the Individual Membership Covenant, an Elder will be happy to talk with you for clarification purposes.

The purpose of EXPLORE COUNTRY (3-week class) is to help each person understand the unique ways that we do ministry at Country and how to become involved. EXPLORE COUNTRY is offered THREE consecutive Sundays, a few times a year. You will hear from Pastor Dale about the vision and values of Country, have an opportunity to meet the Elders and learn more about the various ministries. You will be invited to take a “back stage” tour of the church, discover how your personality has uniquely gifted you to serve, eat great food and laugh out loud with others new to Country.

4. Meet for a Membership Interview

An Elder will conduct a membership interviewer will take some time to answer any questions you might have about us and may ask you questions we have after reviewing your application. We’d also like to take your picture for our records (or you can email us a photo).
